The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for SOEs sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding economic cooperation to support the 'BUMN Go-Global' program. This MoU served as the basis for cooperation to support the SOEs global expansion and inbound-outbound investment. [July 2020]

The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with the Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss the RI - Singapore Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA). The TCA, which came into effect on October 26, 2020, paved a way for Indonesian and Singaporean nationals with essential business, diplomatic, and urgent business purposes to travel between the two countries under certain conditions. Indonesia signs the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement during the 37th ASEAN Summit series, together with 15 ASEAN Member States and Dialogue Partners. [November 2020]

The Government of Indonesia and Chile sign an MoU on Indonesia and Chile Halal Product Guarantee Cooperation during the 2020 Indonesia – Latin America and the Caribbean Business Forum (INA-LAC Business Forum). This MoU is the first cooperation on halal product guarantee between Indonesia and a partner country. [November 2020].

The Indonesian Ambassador to Hungary shakes hands with the Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister at Güntner Tata, a refrigeration machine production company that employs 100 skilled Indonesian migrant workers. Güntner Tata plans to recruit even more Indonesian migrant workers in 2021. [September 2020]

The Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, welcomes the Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, and the Indonesian Minister for SOEs, Erick Thohir. Through facilitation of the Indonesian Embassy in Mexico City, PT. Sarinah signs an MoU on business cooperation with Dufry AG (Switzerland) and Omega Group (Mexico). The signing of this collaboration was carried out at the Indonesian Embassy in Mexico City during the opening ceremony of the Indonesia-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Forum (INA-LAC) 2020, which was witnessed virtually by Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi and Vice Minister for SOEs Kartiko Wirjoadtmodjo. Alpan Lightings Corp is one of the US corporations that is relocating to Indonesia. The industry relocation is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global supply chain diversification. The President conveyed the importance of gaining the strategic trusts back, reactivating APEC's economic growth, and encouraging open and fair multilateral trade to face global economic conditions. PT Pelindo II and NC Maritime Ports Administration (MPA) SA signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sister Ports Cooperation in Constanţa, Romania. This signing marks the 70th anniversary of bilateral relation between Indonesia and Romania and is the first cooperation agreement between the Indonesia's biggest port authority and the biggest port in the Black Sea region. The 17th MIKTA Foreign Ministers' Meeting affirms the importance of promoting multilateralism in handling the wide impact of pandemic, including in safeguarding access and affordability of vaccine distribution, protecting those who are affected by COVID-19 the most, ensuring the transparency and rule-based international order, and protecting the stability of trade and global value chain.
