The global COVID-19 pandemic has put many Indonesians in a difficult condition, both in Indonesia and abroad. This is where the State is needed to provide protection for millions of Indonesians in various parts of the world.

In 2021, the Indonesian Embassy in Lima has distributed assistance packages to 92 Indonesian Nationals in Peru and Bolivia who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The packages includes rice, sugar, cooking oil, canned fish, masks, hand sanitizers, and immune-boosting vitamins.
The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah collects personal data from the students at the Indonesian School of Jeddah (SIJ), that are used to issue several civil and immigration documents, such as Birth Certificates, passports, and Single Identification Numbers (NIT) [November 2021]
The Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru reactivates the Indonesian Community Center (ICC) in Kuantan, Pahang. As a forum for the interaction between Indonesian Nationals residing in several Malaysian states, ICC has a program to familiarize Indonesian children in Malaysia to Indonesian culture and education, such as language, history, and civic education [March 2021]
The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi distributes 137 logistic packages in the form of basic necessities, PPE, medicines, and vitamins to Indonesian Nationals in Sindh Province, as well as disseminates information on “Peduli WNI” application and assists in filling out Self-Report services on the application. This activity successfully increased the number of Indonesian Nationals reporting themselves by 30% in 2021 [October 2021]
The Indonesian Consulate General in Davao City holds a meeting with the Tawi-Tawi Joint Task Force for the security cooperation in the South Mindanao area. The Consulate General also conveyed a certificate of appreciation as a form of appreciation from the Indonesian Government to the Philippine Government for the joint rescue of 4 Indonesian hostages from the Abu Sayyaf group [June 2021]

The Indonesian government managed to evacuate 26 Indonesian citizens, 5 Filipino citizens, and 2 local residents out of Afghanistan. The airplane managed to land safely at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport and was immediately greeted by the Indonesian Foreign Minister, H.E. Retno Marsudi [August 2021]
